This mod was more about me looking for something to hack using sugru than actually trying to improve the xbox controller. Needless to say, I think I did improve the controller.
Here are the results:
Basically I used the sugru to make myself custom nubs that give my middle fingers a lot more traction. When I am several hours into pwning n00bs my hands get a little clammy. These nubs will give me something solid to hang onto. Maybe its because Microsoft figures the Xbox is mostly played my 12 yr olds, but I have always thought the controller was a little small. The sugru nubs help there as well as I pushed some under my ring fingers.
For those really confused about what sugru is… Sugru is like silicone playdough that dries into a soft-tough silicone. Also it adhears to just about anything (or so they claim). I am actually testing that claim because I did not clean the xbox controller before applying the sugru, so it had a light coating of hand oil.
