Call For Contenders: University of Firearms, Book List

June 10th, 2010 by Admin Leave a reply »

Today I was reading the intro to “The Art Of The Rifle” on Amazon and I was thinking, what are the definitive firearm texts? These are books that may teach technique or history. The end results is the reader is better able to use their gun as well as understand it’s significance.

Basically if you were getting a college degree in firearms, what books would you be reading?

What do you think? Leave a comment or email me at admin AT extremetolerance dot com.

I will compile and organize the list in a later post.

  1. I’ve heard that “The Fighting Rifle” by Chuck Taylor is excellent and it is recommended by several schools that teach tactical rifle fighting.

    A few that I recommend:

    For mindset:
Meditations on Violence – Rory Miller

    For handloading:
Any Shot You Want – Arthur Alphin

For various and sundry firearm topics:
    Boston’s Gun Bible
