Counsel, I get where you are coming from. But I want to draw a difference between limiting peoples rights and encouraging them to make good decisions. If I was really a rights limiting ass I would be saying how people should not buy recreational jeeps, boats or atvs because they are... bla... bla... bla...

People who buy big trucks and then don't use them I feel are exercising poor personal judgment and in the process of doing so effecting everyone that has to deal with that vehicle on the roads, in parking lots and at the gas station.

Now I believe in free markets and legislating as least as possible so my ire goes as far as nasty blog posts and peer pressure.

I'm in PDX also. Thanks for the comment on climate change. It seems like it is very popular to have a poor and reactionary understanding of the issue.

Why get upset because someone wants to exercise their right to buy a ( fill in the blank here ) when you blog about those who get upset because you want to buy something you think you need (and have a right to purchase)?

Are you not trying to limit their rights-their freedom to do something that they have a right to do even though others may not like it? Be more accepting than those who try to limit the rights of us who want to purchase a handgun...

Right?
