Battle of the Premium Energy Drinks: Endorush vs Bang!

BSN Endorush vs VPX BANG!, 12 Pack, Black Cherry

Context:

To be perfectly fair, Endorush and Bang! are not exactly the same thing. Endorush is designed more as an energy drink than a pre-workout drink. Bang! is very much a pre-workout drink, that could compete with NO-Xplode directly. However, you will most likely find them being sold in the same case, side by side. Furthermore, both of these drinks compete with their powdered counterparts.

Endorush:

Endorush is billed as an “ultra-premium” energy drink. Its sells for upwards to $3.50 a bottle. One bottle of Endorush is actually 4 servings (about 2 oz a serving). Endorush is essentially NO-Xplode without the creatine. It contains tons of aminos and vitamins and packs a serious caffeine punch. While its not quite the same feeling as NO-Xplode its close. Unfortunately, Endorush tastes like medicine. Its overly syrupy and has a distinct chemical flavor. If you are a fan of Red bull and looking to take it up a notch, this might be good for you. Otherwise this gets a fail. Oh… I almost forgot. Every time I drink Endorush I get a headache. Also Endorush dehydrates me like crazy.

Bang!:

Bang! is VPX’s ready to drink pre-workout supplement. Bang!, unlike Endorush contains the creatine. The flavor was good, I had the black cherry. I was shocked to crack this thing open and find the beverage clear. That’s right its totally clear. Usually when you buy something that’s cherry, you get fake purple/red. Unfortunately, when I hit the gym the pump was nothing like what you get for NO-Xplode.

Conclusion:

If I found myself in the gym, without NO-Xplode and lacking the motivation to do my workout without, I would probably reach for the Bang!. However, I doubt I will every find myself thinking my workout requires a $3 to $3.50 drink to be successful. Although if I was tired and had also forgot my iPod it might be a different story. Also remember these drinks are primarily providing “false energy”, that is caffeine not carbs, keep that in mind next time you bonk (fail/slow in completing a workout).

Buying Advice:

If you want these bad enough to think ahead I would probably try Bodybuilding.com first.

Question:

What are you guys drinking before and durring your workouts, both in the gym and outside?
