Ruger 10/22 with new barrel, stock and bipod

For those of you who don’t remember my first Ruger 10/22 project post, I am piecing together a 10/22 that is both very accurate and great for a fun day at the range. In the process I wanted to get intimately acquainted with the inner working of a gun and how each piece effects the function of the firearm.

Ruger 10 22 Transformation: Part 1

July 16th, 2009

beginning parts for my Ruger 10 22 project

Over the last sever months I have felt the need to buy a cheap gun and turn it into a target/plinking shooting machine. This exercise is not about building the best most expensive gun but spending a fair amount and getting a gun that is rewarding to shoot (not to mention accurate). If Only There Was A Good Firearms Blog…

July 14th, 2009

Wish you could get great new about the firearms without constant ads for the NRA or whining about politics? Look no further than The Firearm Blog. This guys sub title “Firearms Not Politics” is completely accurate. I have to say that I consistently enjoy his posts. Not to mention that he is one of the few gun nut bloggers that can actually put together a decent looking website.

If you want to add another great blog to your reader check out Wired’s Danger Room. By far my favorite national security blog.

iPhone 3G S Review

July 6th, 2009

A few weeks ago I posted about ordering the iPhone 3G S. Now that I have had some time playing with it I can give a bit of a review.

iPhone 3G S First Impressions
The first thing you notice, at least when upgrading, is a significant increase in speed. It seems like load times are significantly reduced. The iPhone does not multi-task, meaning it does not run multiple apps at the same time. On the S model switching apps feels like switching apps where on the original 3G it feels like closing one and opening another.
